What is FamilyStories?
A private space for family stories.
FamilyStories is a private app for families who want to securely preserve memories, voices, and life stories from parents, grandparents, and loved ones. Guided questions, text, and voice recordings help you capture stories together as a family.
Who it's for:
Adult children, grandchildren, and relatives who don't want to wait until it's too late.
What you capture:
Life stories, family rituals, photos, voices, and small moments you never want to lose.
How:
Interview in the app, invite through a browser link, or answer with an invite code: thoughtful questions, thought prompts, text answers, voice recordings, and automatic speech-to-text.
Why start now
The most important stories often fade quietly.
Family history rarely disappears overnight. More often, life gets busy and nobody asks in time.
For example
- How Grandma used to celebrate Christmas
- Why Dad chose his first career
- The phrase that carried Mom through hard seasons
Some stories only come out when someone asks. FamilyStories helps you capture the memories, voices, and life stories of parents and grandparents before everyday life quietly fades them.
How it works
From scattered answers to a story that lasts.
FamilyStories walks families from the first question to a living archive with text, voice, photos, and exports when you’re ready.
What it feels like
Calm, clear, and built for real conversations, not scrolling.
FamilyStories is designed to feel approachable for people who don't spend all day on their phones: generous typography, clear cards, voice when typing feels like too much, and thought prompts for every question.
What’s the first thing you remember when you think of the home you grew up in?

Security & privacy
We treat your family stories the way you would.
These aren’t “posts.” They’re private memories. FamilyStories is built around protected invites, encrypted content, and a product that doesn’t rely on ads or selling your data.
At FamilyStories, security isn’t negotiable. It’s a fundamental principle for everything your family wants to preserve.
- End-to-end encryption to help keep memories private.
- Only invited people can read or contribute.
- No ads, no public feed, and no selling your personal stories.
- Export text, photos, and original voice recordings as an archive when you want a copy.
Why we built FamilyStories
Because I didn’t ask the questions soon enough.
FamilyStories came from a simple feeling: you shouldn’t wait for “someday” to preserve family stories while people can still tell them.
A personal note from Vedad.
My family has lived in different places for years. We call, write, and see each other on holidays, and still I ask far too rarely the questions I know I'd miss the most later.
I wish I had asked more about how Grandma made that one dish, about rituals nobody ever wrote down, and about the people before my time. When my grandparents were gone, I realized how suddenly quiet it gets when those stories are missing.
Alzheimer’s plays a role in our family too. That makes the wish even more urgent to capture memories in time, while they can still be told, including by voice when typing feels like too much.
My wish is simple: that families start asking earlier, not only when someone is gone, but while the memories haven't faded yet.

What families usually ask first.
FamilyStories is built for private family stories. You stay in control, answers are easy to give, and each paid plan applies to exactly one family circle.
Your family content belongs to your family. FamilyStories does not claim ownership, exploit it, or read, listen to, or view end-to-end encrypted stories, photos, and recordings. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or use family content, account data, feedback, purchase data, or operational data to train our own or third-party AI models. Necessary operational data that is not encrypted is used only for clearly stated purposes such as security, support, purchase management, and legal obligations.
No. You can interview family members in the app, invite them through a link in the browser, or let them answer with an invite code in the app. FamilyStories is intentionally calm: large text, clear steps, and no unnecessary complexity.
